Product Details

First things first, this is not just a lace up version of its Velcro counterpart. While the last of the Lace is based on that of the longstanding Velcro, it is not the same. The Lace provides a little more volume, along with extra power, rigidity and precision in the toe box. It also brings together a host of other varying features to create the ultimate performance route shoe.

Alongside the lacing system the microfibre upper is further supported by a TPU (Thermo PolyUrethane) frame, incorporated into the lacing harness and wrapping under the shoe to further increase hold and minimise stretch. As with the Velcro our Bi-Tension system supplies toe-to-heel support, however the use of a unique D2 Rubber rand - a fusion of two rubber compounds combines the adaptability of M50 with the containment of M70 - increases forefoot precision and hold, while maintaining toe knuckle comfort and protection. Use of the PAF heel system further improves comfort, by dispersing pressure from the achilles.

A full length 1mm Flexan midsole curves up the spine of the heel, while at the forefoot a “wing” wraps around the outside edge of the shoe (beneath outsole and rand) to increase rigidity both laterally and lengthways. The outsole features a full-length Vibram XS-Edge platform, to complete this incredible, yet often underestimated shoe.
